Bartholomew Allen (Genesis)

Bartholomew 'Barry' Allen is a Police Forensic Investigator for the Central City Police Department. At a young age, Barry's Father was accused of murdering his Mother, and so Barry was sent to live with a friend of his Father's, Dr. Jay Garrick. Jay was a scientist with a PhD in Chemistry, which got Barry interested in it from an early age, leading him into his career.

When the Particle Accelerator at Central City's S.T.A.R. Labs exploded, it created a lightning storm. Barry, whom was working late in the lab, was struck by lightning through a window in the roof, throwing him into vials of chemicals. Left comatose, he was found by Jay whom called him in an ambulance. For 9 months, Barry was in the coma, until he suddenly recovered healthier than ever, finding himself within the S.T.A.R. Labs facility. Dr. Silas Stone, one of the creators of the Particle Accelerator, was there to greet Barry. In his shock, Barry escaped the facility, discovering his new abilities of Super-Speed. Eventually, he returned to the facility to ask about his new speed, where Dr. Stone made him do some tests. He discovered he'd been affected by what they called the 'Speed-Force', which granted him the Super-Speed.

Giving him a test-suit that could withstand the friction and fast movement, Barry became the Red Streak of Central City, where no one ever truly saw him. It wasn't until Starro's attack did anyone get footage of him, but it took the arrival of the Flash in Bludhaven for Barry's Flash to go public.
